Brrr! It's freezing up here! Rachel and I spent the last week of 2024 in D.C and Maryland and enjoyed some balmy 60 degree weather as we rang in the new year. Now we feel like we're not acclimated for the weather up here! We're also recovering from the flu that we picked up while traveling, so the cold feels especially biting.

Regardless of the weather, it's nice to be back on the farm and planning for the new year, and we've got a lot of plans for 2025! Our mushroom logs that we innoculated with shiitake mushrooms last year should start producing for the CSA this year, we will be planting table grapes in one of our greenhouses to start getting them established for future years, we're submitting grants to seal up and heat our greenhouses to produce tomatoes earlier in the season, and we plan on expanding our melon production this year as we try to produce more fruit options on the farm.

I'm getting excited for our 2025 growing season and I hope you are, too! CSA shares are open for signup and we've had good participation so far. I would like to be near capacity by the beginning of March this year so that we don't have to think about selling shares too much while we are getting ready for the main growing season. Market on Thursday & Greens This Weekend

We'll be at the farmers market at Cheshire Medical Center from 10am - 2pm this Thursday, and afterwards we'll be making greens available in the barn over the weekend. If you're on our winter greens distribution list, keep an eye out for an email from me this weekend about availability. With the cold weather we can't keep stuff in the store, but we should be able to use the walk-in to keep things from freezing. Otherwise check us out at cheshire med!
